Pros of buying Incandescent Encased Lights Globes (E122709SO, 75W) for porch and street lamps:1. Wide Availability: Incandescent bulbs are widely available and easy to find in stores and online, making them a convenient choice for immediate replacement.
2. Traditional Aesthetic: Their warm, inviting glow is a classic and timeless aesthetic, which can help maintain the traditional look of your home and neighborhood.
3. Instant Light: Incandescent bulbs provide instant light without any delay, which is beneficial in situations where you need immediate illumination.
4. Lower Initial Cost: Compared to energy-efficient alternatives like LEDs, incandescent bulbs tend to have a lower upfront cost.
Cons of buying Incandescent Encased Lights Globes (E122709SO, 75W) for porch and street lamps:1. Energy Inefficiency: Incandescent bulbs are not energy-efficient, as up to 90% of the energy they consume is wasted as heat, leading to higher energy bills over time.
2. Short Lifespan: Incandescent bulbs have a shorter lifespan than energy-efficient alternatives, often requiring replacement every year or two.
3. Heat Generation: Their high heat output can make them uncomfortable in warmer climates and pose a fire risk if not used properly or in appropriate enclosures.
4. Environmental Impact: Due to their inefficiency and short lifespan, incandescent bulbs contribute to increased energy consumption and waste, which can have a negative impact on the environment.
Conclusion: While incandescent encased lights globes have their advantages, such as wide availability and traditional aesthetic, their energy inefficiency, short lifespan, and heat generation make them less viable options for porch and street lamps in the long term. Considering the environmental impact and energy costs, it's recommended to explore energy-efficient options like LED bulbs, which offer longer lifespan, energy efficiency, and reduced heat output, resulting in lower energy bills and less environmental impact.
Lots of bubbles in the glass. The glass wire globes are real nice, no chips no cracks, no metal separations. Shipping could be expensive, am allowing 40.
Shipping all 75 watt sockets work on the 3 fixtures, 9 total, but 2 are somewhat bent, and with a dent, I did not try to fix, and all 3 have hairline tears starting at their rims, 3 each see last 2 photos. Both have nice patina on the metal, and come with bird residue on top, see photos does come with metal sleeve covers for the bulb supports, see first photo. Can pick them up for free, I live half way between Los Angeles San Diego, near the I 15 freeway.
No bulbs or small mounting nuts are included. One glass globe is sun colored, the other is not. The heavy wire encased globes are 17 tall by themselves, add another 5 when attached to the light fixtures, see photo.
Looks like these were made in may of 1998, see hologram label. I do not know if these were porch or street Lights, input appreciated. Have been unable to find a replacement price, but do not think they were cheap when originally bought.
